Turkey Quinoa Burgers

These burgers are extremely easy and nutritious. The quinoa adds extra protein and fiber. You can store them in the refrigerator and reheat them in the oven later if needed.
INGREDIENTS:
¾ cup cooked quinoa, cooled or cold
1 lb ground turkey white meat or dark or a combination of both
½ teaspoon salt
dash of pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Optional: 1 sliced green onion, 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or cilantro
PREPARATION:
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl combining well (add optional ingredients now if desired)
- Form mixture into patties
- In a large pan, heat coconut oil on medium heat until hot
- Add turkey patties to pan and cook in coconut oil for 5 minutes, then flip and cook another 5 minutes on the other side
- Serve on whole grain buns with toppings of choice
